HAIR TESTING:

The hair is nourished by the bloodstream. Chemical metabolites consumed by the donor are therefore deposited into the hair shaft.

Depending on the length of hair, drugs may be detected in head hair for one to three months (head hair grows approximately ½ inch per month). The lab tests only 2 inches from the hair root. Body hair (chest, arm, leg, underarm or pubic hair) grows at a slower rate and may detect up to 6 months of drug use.

Hair testing is available for 5 to 10 panel drug screens and alcohol testing (ETG).

FINGERNAIL TESTING:

Fingernails, like hair are nourished by the bloodstream. Chemical metabolites consumed by the donor are deposited in the fingernail. Fingernail testing detects drugs used within the past 6 months. Fingernail testing is available for 5 to 10 panel drug screens and alcohol (ETG) testing.
